The Circling the Wagons Coalition of LGBTQ/SSA Mormons and their Families, Friends and Allies is body of professionals, community volunteers, religious affiliates, and others who love, support and seek to improve the lives of LGBTQ/SSA Mormons. The inherently personal nature of religious belief, spirituality, sexuality and individual identity have the propensity to evoke strong emotions, convictions and stances regarding issues that are of consequence to the LGBTQ/SSA Mormon community. As a result, deep divisions and ideological clashes exist among good people who share the similar objective of serving the needs of LGBTQ/SSA Mormons.
The Coalition was established to facilitate communication and collaboration. It is founded on the principle that those who have the similar commendable objectives can work together to reach their collective goals despite conflicting perspectives. Our hope is that through communication and collaboration we may achieve more in cooperation than we might independently.

The Coalition will meet annually on the Friday before the Circling the Wagons Salt Lake City conference and will communicate via email.
The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 21st, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at the McGillis School Library on at 777 S 1300 East in Salt Lake City. The meetings objectives will be 1) to introduce members of the coalition to one another and 2) to begin discussions and brainstorms for the purpose of generating shared standards of ethical communication, conflict resolution and LGBTQ/SSA Mormon youth and adult physical, emotional, social and sexual safety.
